Kayla is now 2 months old and she reached 5 lbs, which means she gained 2 lbs in one month! You can see the weight gain in her chubby cheeks! She is still doing well. Her oxygen level is being lowered each day and she seems to be handling it well. However the bottle/breast feeding is not going quite as well. Kayla has apparently accepted the idea of getting her food via her feeding tube. She doesn't want to have to put the extra effort in to get the milk on her own and tends to fall asleep. The nurses say she is young yet and that she will eventually get it. At this point, she just needs to learn to eat in order to come home. We are remaining patient and of course praying that she can focus on eating.
Kayla will have fun trying on all of those new outfits. Kelly will share the new hats with the other babies and give the nurses there present from Aunt Pat.
