First Valentine's Day

Sorry for the delay again. We lost power for a few days due to the snow but are good now. A special thanks to the Penn's for letting us warm up in their house!

Miss Kayla seems to have enjoyed her first Valentine's Day. Her Daddy gave her a bottle for the first time and she behaved for him, for the most part. On 12-Feb Kayla finished a full bottle for the first time, thanks to a very determined nurse. Unfortunately she has not completed a bottle since then. She is still trying but is only eating about half of her feeding at a time. The doctor thinks she should have the whole eating process figured out within a week which means it will probably be at least another two weeks until she can come home :( We are trying to motivate her but we think she likes it in the NICU too much. She is up to 6 pounds today though so at least she is growing well!

Thanks to our friends and family, we seem to have everything we need for her to come home (or at least we think we do). The house is ready and waiting for her!

We do have a prayer request though. Kayla's friend Amanda is not doing well and was transferred to CHOP. Dwight and I have become friends with her parents and they have been very helpful and gave great advice. We ask that you please pray for Amanda and her parents, for Amanda to get healthy and for her parents to remain patient and strong until they can finally take their daughter home. They have been through a lot.
