Kayla met some of her cousins for the first time in person last Saturday (not through a window anymore!). She met Dwight's brothers kids that range in age from 11 years old to 19 months old. Kayla was quite entertained by them and I think they were very excited to meet and hold her.
Kayla also had her first taste of pears on Saturday. She seemed to really like them a lot. She doesn't quite understand how to eat from a spoon but she invented a very interesting technique to get the pears. She some how managed to suck the food off the spoon. It was very cute!
On Sunday she went to church for the first time. She behaved for the most part. She was fascinated by the stain-glass windows and all of the new faces looking at her. She cried a little bit during the service but then slept. Dwight joked that she already slept through her first sermon.
On Sunday nights Dwight's family gets together for dinner at his Aunts' motel. Kayla made her first appearance last weekend. It was a little quieter then normal though since some of her cousins weren't there. Her Great Aunts and other cousins got a chance to hold her.
On Tuesday Kayla went to the Cardiologist in Havertown. Getting Kayla to cooperate long enough to run a EKG, Echo cardiogram, pulse oxygen, and get her blood pressure wasn't easy. She had a few 'melt downs' but they were able to obtain the information they needed. The cardiologist said everything looked good and she doesn't have to come back again. After the appointment Kayla made a brief visit to her Mum mum and Grandpa Moore's house. She was amused by the numerous cow items at their house.
On Thursday Kayla had another visit from the Physical Therapist. The PT was happy with Kayla's progress. She gave us more exercises again, including putting Kayla in a Laundry basket. She looks too cute sitting in it!
Today Kayla met Dwight's sister's daughters for the first time. They had a good time entertaining her.
Discovery of the week:
Kayla discovered (on her own) that burp clothes also make excellent hats.
I am thrilled to hear that Kayla's social life is so full. She has come a long way, and you must be very proud of her. I'm very proud of her mummy and daddy, you are the greatest. Love, Judy
